The BMX field consisting of 30 female and 30 male freestylers will be divided into six smaller starting groups, also-called heats, each with five riders. Allocation and order will be random. The riders in each heat will go out onto the course one after the other and have one minute to show their best tricks and to impress not only the audience but also the jury. The points are awarded from 0.00 to 99.99 directly after the run. When one heat is over, the next one follows. The twelve best riders move on to the final.
