DRUM & HERUM

In Munich, around and about: The Roofs may be pitching its tents primarily in Olympiapark, but that doesn't mean that the competition routes in the city and the surrounding area are lacklustre. Where there's cycling, running and race walking, there's also partying. You can also look forward to a tailor-made supporting programme at Odeonsplatz, in Fürstenfeldbruck, Landsberg am Lech, and Murnau a. Staffelsee.

Odeonsplatz

Drum roll, please! Hardly anyone could have staged the routes of the road bike races more beautifully. The race starts in Murnau a. Staffelsee for the men and in Landsberg am Lech for the women, and goes past Bavarian postcard idylls, right into the heart of Munich with the finish at Odeonsplatz. Who better to accompany the dramatic climax than brass bands and drum groups? A real energy boost for the final sprint of the professionals and the final applause of the audience! The marathon will also be filled with life: the ten-kilometre loop through the city centre promises sightseeing of a different kind. At Friedensengel and Gärtnerplatz there will be drums to your ears, in addition to your cheers.
