FAQ - The Roofs
There may be admission restrictions at the Central Roof. All other Roofs and the whole festival area are freely accessible at all times.
There are no facilities for checking in luggage or large bags. Alternatively, you can rent a locker at the main train station or in the city.
Bicycles are not allowed on the site. You can park your bike at the respective entrances.
You cannot stay overnight on the site. There are no tent or camping facilities.
Food and drinks may be taken for personal use.
Please note that glass bottles are prohibited on the entire festival site.
You do not have to register in advance for workshops! However, the principle of "first come, first served" applies, as we only have a limited number of places. Therefore, we advise you to be at the respective Roof before the workshop starts.
The Roofs are open from 11:00 until at least 22:00. Some Roofs do not close until 23:00.
You don't need a ticket for The Roofs festival. The festival, including all concerts, is free of charge on all 11 days.
The Roofs are self-sufficient event islands spread throughout Olympiapark and beyond. Each Roof will present its very own character in terms of content as well as set-up, decoration, food & chill. The programme symbolises the diversity of Olympiapark, its history, the present and the future. Whether music, art, culture, food or participatory programmes for our youngest visitors - the programme has something to offer for everyone!

Art Roof: This is a floating gallery in Olympiasee that shows art from Urban Art, Contemporary Art, Street Art, Graffiti and Photography in container studios.
BMW Roof: The BMW Group welcomes you to BMW Welt as the official premium partner of European Championships Munich 2022. On arrival at Olympiapark, the BMW Welt Roof welcomes you with an experience for young and old.
Central Roof: The largest Roof is the venue for the Opening ceremony on 10 August and concerts by Marteria, Beatsteaks, Gayle, Alphaville and many, many more!
Creative Roof: Over 11 days on the second largest stage of The Roofs, a refreshing mix of a colourful music programme with bands and DJs, theatre, poetry slams, yoga and various workshops awaits you. The Creative Roof is surrounded by unusual decorations, upcycling attractions and chill-out areas on the shores of Olympiasee.
Capri Roof: The Capri Roof is a bar with Italian flair for relaxing on the shores of Olympiasee.
Golden Beach Roof: This is the perfect place to enjoy the evening at the Olympic Regatta Centre, after the competitions with live DJs, cool drinks and tasty snacks in hammocks, lounge furniture and sun sails. Opening hours are from 11-14 August and 18-21 August.
Heimat Roof: A toast to cosiness in Munich's highest beer garden with Bavarian music on Olympiaberg! Culinary delights are extremely well catered for.
Kids Roof: Thanks to the support of children's and youth sports, the Department for Education and Sport and Para Sport, there will be hands-on sport here. LILALU will provide a creative hands-on programme.
Multicolour Roof: This Roof offers colourful festival flair around the sporting action in the sport climbing and beach volleyball arenas at Königsplatz.
Technology Roof: From 11-15 August, you can find out which exciting technologies will shape our future at the Technology Roof powered by Fraunhofer where you can also actively participate.
