Public Transport Tickets for all ticket holders

Have you already secured your ticket for the European Championships Munich 2022? Then we have a pre-Christmas gift for you, and for all those who will still be purchasing tickets. Our Munich 2022 tickets can also be used for public transport to the event! The local organising committee has joined forces with Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund GmbH for the event. Yes, you read that right, your MVV ticket is included - so you can get to and from the competition stress-free and climate-friendly.

How?

Hardtickets can be used as a ticket without any further thought. With eTickets it works a bit differently. As soon as you order your ticket, you will receive an e-mail from us with the purchase confirmation including your eTicket. Read this e-mail carefully, it contains all the information you need to redeem your MVV ticket. Attention: The eTicket alone is not valid as a ticket.

What?

Every purchased Munich 2022 ticket entitles the holder to travel to the event and back to their accommodation on the day of the event using public transport within the MVV tariff zone without additional cost. The entire route network can be used! Only free tickets are excluded.

Why?

Munich’s Olympiapark has been a role model for all sporting events in terms of sustainability in 1972 and is to this day. But the Local Organizing Committee wants more! Transport and mobility at the European Championships 2022 are to become climate neutral!

Therefore, incentives are to be created for the increased use of public transport. All visitors will therefore receive an included MVV ticket with their ticket purchase for the European Championships.

In addition, Munich has promoted cycling over the last 15 years with campaigns such as "Radlhauptstadt" (Cycling Capital) and the expansion of cycle lanes. In order to offer cyclists the greatest possible comfort at the venues, rental bikes and bike racks will be provided.

When?

From August 11 to 21, 2022, Europe's best athletes will compete for European Championship medals in nine sports. With the European Championships, Munich will welcome the biggest sporting event since the 1972 Summer Olympics, with athletics, beach volleyball, canoe racing, climbing, cycling, gymnastics, rowing, table tennis and triathlon all in the mix.

The heart of the event is the Olympiapark, but the entire city will spruce up for a spectacular and incomparable experience. Competitions will also take place at the Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle, Olympic Regatta Centre, Messe München as well as at Königsplatz.
