How can I sign up?

How can I sign up?

Age group athletes can sign up with their respective national federations (NF). Each NF might have different nomination criteria. You can find contact information to your NF on the following website:

If you are from Germany, you can find the relevant nomination criteria and information on the website of Deutsche Triathlon Union.

A decision on whether swimming in a wetsuit is allowed will be made by the responsible head referee on race day, one hour before the respective start. The temperature table of the World Triathlon Competition Rules (chapter 4.2) applies.

Drafting will be allowed. According to World Triathlon Competition Rules, triathlon specific bikes are not allowed, but racing/road bikes are.

Swim + transition 1: 1h 30 min

Swim + bike: 1h 30min

Swim + bike + run: 2h

When you check in at transition 2 on Saturday, your race suit will normally be checked to make sure it complies with World Triathlon regulations. Therefore, please take it with you to the check-in. If the check-in takes place at a different location, this will be announced at the race briefing.

There will one central briefing only for team managers. After that, each nation will have their own briefing for their athletes. Please check with your federation regarding time and location.

There will be two aid stations on the run course (see course maps). Water, Powerbar ISO and Powerbar gels will be distributed. There are no aid stations on the bike course. Athletes must carry their own food and drinks.

Yes, the S-Bahn line 2 runs regularly from Munich to Karlsfeld. From there a bus will take you to lake Karlsfelder See. Connections can be found on the Munich public transport website

Yes – on Saturday (lake Karlsfelder See to Olympiapark München) and on Sunday morning (Olympiapark München to lake Karlsfelder See). The exact times can be found in the timetable. The shuttle is for athletes only. It is not possible to bring bicycles.

There are several pay and display parking lots at lake Karlsfelder See: Parkplatz See at Jahnstrasse 10, Parkplatz beim Biergarten, Hochstrasse 69A, and Parkplatz Ost, Hochstrasse 69R.

There are no parking facilities directly at Olympiapark and we generally recommend arriving by public transport. The nearest parking facilities are at “Olympiaeinkaufzentrum” (approx. 20 min walk).

No. Your stuff will be taken to transition 2, where you can pick it up.

Access to transitions is possible by showing your athlete wristband.

In a predefined timeslot (see schedule) transitions can be entered on race morning to check equipment.

Each athlete will receive a bib number, which has to be worn during bike and run. In addition, there are two tattoos with the bib number and one tattoo with the age group.

The wave starts will be divided according to age groups. In principle, each age group will have its own wave start, but it is possible that age groups with few starters will be combined into one wave start. The exact start times will be published in the athletes guide.

The actual water temperature of the lake can be checked on the following website (only in German language): Wassertemperatur Karlsfelder See. The official water temperature of the lake will be announced on race morning by the head referee.

Course maps can be found on the European Championships Munich 2022 website.
