Of course, you are always welcome at Olympiapark München. We would be happy if you came by the Main Volunteer Centre on one of your days off or before or after your shift.

We have assigned some of our volunteers for two roles. Don't worry, this is not a mistake, we would love to have you in both roles. Of course, we make sure that the days of the roles do not overlap. In some areas we only need volunteers for a very short time, but we would still like to give you the opportunity to support the team for longer and experience as much of Munich 2022 as possible.

In the meantime, we have sent a status e-mail to all those who have registered with us as volunteers. In this email we informed you on your acceptance or declination or if you are on the waiting list. If you do not have an e-mail in your inbox, please check your spam folder, otherwise feel free to write to volunteers@munich2022.com.

If you registered after 09 September 2021, you were placed on our waiting list. As soon as a volunteer cancels and we have a suitable role for you, we will contact you.

In spring 2022, digital training materials will be available to prepare you for your volunteer assignment in the best possible way. A volunteer kick-off is also planned, depending on how the pandemic evolves. Before your assignment, you will be trained on site to familiarise with your tasks. The training serves as a basis for your assignment, so it is essential to take part in it.

In addition to the digital training content, which we will make available to you in spring 2022, the Volunteer Kick-off Event is planned approximately two months before the event, where you will receive general information and get to know your contact persons and other volunteers. The most important training, however, is the on-site training, where we will introduce you to your task. It will take place shortly before your first assignment.

The extent depends on your task. In more complex areas, the training can last several days.

In addition to general information about the event itself and the volunteer programme, you will learn about your exact tasks. During the online training, we will provide you with important documents so that you can prepare for your volunteer assignment. During the on-site training you will be shown your location, any equipment will be explained and of course you will get to know your contact person and the other volunteers from your area.

The on-site training will take place directly at your location for you to get to know the venue, the routes, and your tasks. You will be informed about the location and date of your training in due course.

The on-site training is important for you to get to know your tasks and is considered a mandatory appointment. If you cannot attend the on-site training, please let us know ahead of time so we can find a good solution.

Please inform us as soon as possible via e-mail at volunteers@munich2022.com in case you can no longer participate as a volunteer. We will have to reschedule and look for a replacement.

If you get ill before or during your assignment, please contact your area manager as soon as possible so that they can find a replacement in time.

We have found a variety of hostels and campsites for you, where you can book a place to sleep directly. You have received the link to the accommodations with your confirmation. We also try to provide sleeping places in sports halls at a reasonable price. This would mean that about 100-200 volunteers would sleep in one hall. Air mattresses and the like have to be brought along by you, sanitary facilities would be provided. If we can offer this, we will inform you.

In our Volunteer Facebook group you will find a post where you can exchange information with volunteers from Munich and maybe find a private place to sleep, according to the motto "from volunteers for volunteers".

As a volunteer, you are responsible for organising a place to sleep during your assignment. In the confirmation e-mail for your assignment as a volunteer you have received a link to possible accommodations. On this website you will find all information and possible discounts. As soon as we have more accommodations, we will inform you.
